Come and celebrate Louis Riel Day at the Museum with activities for the whole family!

These activities and performances are all free with admission.

Official Voyageurs of the Festival du Voyageur
Get your picture taken with Leo and the Official Voyageurs from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and share it on social media. Then join the Official Voyageurs for a live performance at 12 p.m.

Traditional Beading
Participate in a workshop on traditional beading with our specially trained Indigenous interpreter. Explore the history and meaning behind beading for diverse Indigenous cultures. Learn how to create your own piece of beadwork! 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Indigenous Perspectives gallery on Level 2.

Performance: Double the Trouble
Join the Double the Trouble duo for a live performance of traditional fiddle and contemporary music, from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I Spy
Find interpreters in the Israel Asper Tower of Hope from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a fun, family-friendly game of I Spy. Interpreters will show you some of the historic spots in Winnipeg, which connect to Louis Riel and the Métis people.

Métis Rights Tour launch
Explore the Museum on Louis Riel Day with one of our interpreters during the new Métis Rights Tour. On this 75-minute guided tour, you will discover the rich and complex human rights history of Métis people. Learn about ongoing efforts of the Métis to achieve justice and recognition in Canada.

The Métis Rights Tour will be offered at:
