At the Spring or Vernal Equinox, the equator passes the centre of the sun and the hours of daylight and darkness are nearly equal. After the equinox or equal night, daylight lengthens as our side of the planet warms up. Poised between opposing forces of light and dark, we can use the potential and fertility of this time to create opportunities for positive change in our lives and in the world.
You are invited to mark the change in seasons with a 108 Sun Salutations practice led by Shivaun Berg. 108 Sun Salutations sounds daunting, but this practice is suitable for all levels and is calming and restorative. It's not about perfect form or maximum effort, but about moving with the breath and sustaining yourself. Taking rest in child's pose (balasana) is always an option.
Allow 90 minutes. Non-members attend by donation to Villa Rosa Inc. (minimum $10). Class included in YP membership but donations are always appreciated.
