An alley cat race depicts a day in the life of a bike messenger. OUR alley cat race depicts a party on 2 wheels.
The key to winning is to RIDE SAFE and HAVE FUN.
Multiple, secret stops with tasks to complete along the way. Ride as hard as you like, all levels of riders are welcome.
Registration is 7-8pm @ 91 Albert in the Exchange. Bring yourself, your bike, and some ID. This is an event for adults. $15 for entry
Location to be announced. Doors at 9pm
$10 for the afterparty. But racers get in free!
Individual — Race is the operative word here. Fast as you can for a chance to reach the podium and win the stellar prizes. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd. In 3 categories: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. You catergorize yourself when you register!
First Single speed — A special category for the OG alley cat afficionados. Race in any category, or as part of a team. First SS accross the line wins the prize.
Group — All for one, and one for all. Racing as a team means you're only competing against other teams. Your average times will be taken, so it pays to stick together. There is only ONE top prize for fastest team!
Track standing contest (for the fixed gears) — Balance motionless on your bike. No moving forwards or back. Longest time will be rewarded.
Foot down contest (for the freewheels!) — Like a hurricane of bikes. Keep moving forward while the play area gets smaller and smaller. Last person riding walks away with a prize.
Best Dressed — Costume, Lycra, or formal wear. Best dressed overall wins.
Spirit Award — It's tradition to award the best attitude with tickets to the Rainbow Trout Music Fesitval ( rainbowtroutmusicfestival.com ) Anyone can win.
Door Prize — Just for showing up to the after party! Everyone who enters get's a ticket.
