In this workshop with local Indigenous artist Clark Morrissett, you will have the opportunity to learn about the concepts of the Seven Sacred Teachings and contemporary Canadian Indigenous artists. Our focus will be Woodland Art--its artists, traditions, imagery and style: particularly trailblazing Indigenous artists such as Norval Morrisseau and Jackson Beardy. We will look at the role of animals in the art and the meaning of symbols. Participants will have the opportunity to create a painting in the Woodlands style.

**Please note that ArtsJunktion is committed to working with Indigenous artists to honour and celebrate Indigenous artforms. We believe in art as a means of teaching and sharing story, culture, and truth, and strive to do so with the utmost respect. It is our delight to have Clark Morrissett facilitate this workshop and the teachings that inspire his work.
